“Greener Starts Here”

The City and David City Recycling are offering large item(s) curbside pickup (furniture and appliances) on May 7-9. There will be a $10.00 charge per resident for one appliance, additional appliances will be $5.00 each. The fee must be paid prior to pickup at the City Office, 557 4th Street, David City. Old refrigerators and freezers must have certification the Freon has been removed. Batteries will be picked up or you may deliver them to the City Maintenance Building at 174 E Street.

Raw garbage, lumber and tires will NOT be picked up. We will not pick up anything your garbage hauler will take. Yard waste collection site will be open at the Recycling Center. Place grass clippings and leaves in wooden bin. We will not accept plastic bags with grass clippings! Please take bushes, brush, limbs, large yard waste and large loads of yard waste to the old landfill north of town.

The Recycling Center is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. We ask that you use the center only when we are open. We recycle newspaper, magazines, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans, tin cans, automobile batteries, waste oil, newspaper, NO GLASS, NO STYROFOAM, NO PLASTIC BAGS. CARDBOARD MUST BE FLATTENED and in a pile, NO WHOLE BOXES please. Plastic milk jugs, plastic pop bottles and plastic soap bottles should be flattened if possible.

Rinse tin cans and flatten.

Yard waste, tree limbs and brush ONLY will be accepted at the old landfill north of town. Residents are required to take all large loads to the landfill. Yard waste businesses are to take all grass and leaves to old landfill. We will NOT pick up branches. You can take tree branches & yard waste only to the old landfill.
