• Adults (18 and Older): $6.00

General Rules

1. No diving off the side of the diving boards.
2. No running throughout the entire facility.
3. One bounce on the board.
4. Profanity or abusive language is prohibited.
5. No dunking.
6. No throwing of swimmers or chicken fights.
7. Anyone under the use of drugs/alcohol will be denied use of the facility.
8. No swimming between the middle of the diving boards.
9. No sitting or playing on the ladders.
10. No older swimmers playing on the equipment in the shallow ends.
11. No diving in the “NO DIVING” areas/No hanging on boards.
12. No spitting water or blowing nose into the water.
13. Towels are not to be hung on fences or equipment within the facility.
14. No splashing the lifeguards/No fighting.
15. Daily paying customers may re-enter the pool area by being checked out/in by the pool office.
16. Swimmers must wear proper swim attire.  Cut off jeans, gym shorts, everyday shorts, t-shirts, and leotards are not permitted swimwear.
17. Long hair MUST be tied back.
18. Everyone must shower before using the pool.
19. Any activity that the lifeguards deem unsafe can be stopped immediately.
20. Swimming is not allowed in the water slide receiving pool.
21. No smoking allowed within the facility.
22. No glass containers of any kind allowed within the facility.
23. The pool office will accept no phone calls for swimmers.
24. Outside food/drink is not allowed unless it is for a private party.
25. Blankets, radios with headsets, and other paraphernalia for sunbathing will be allowed in the grass areas.
26. Personal pool toys will be allowed in the facility as long as they are handled responsibly.
27. The City of David City is NOT responsible for items stolen, damaged or lost.
28. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages, drugs, or tobacco products will be permitted in the facility at any time.
29. Bikes must be parked in the bike rack.
30. All children not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
31. Children 6 years and under must be supervised by an adult at all times.
32. Any time thunder/lightning is detected, either through detection system or a manual sighting, the pool will be cleared.  No refunds given.

Disciplinary Actions

1^st Verbal Warning –   Swimmer sits down for 10 minutes.

2^nd Verbal Warning -   Swimmer sits down for 20 minutes – Guard consults with Manager

3^rd Verbal Warning -   Swimmer is kicked out for the day.

 

• The amount of time a swimmer is not allowed to return to the pool over one day is left to the discretion of the manager.  The manager has the authority to remove a swimmer from the facility for an indefinite period of time with no reimbursement to the swimmer if he/she has a history of discipline problems or is suspected of a criminal act.

Private Swimming Lessons

Any swimming pool employee will be allowed to teach private swimming lessons if they have their WSI and run them in accordance with the following guidelines:

• Private swimming lessons are a service offered by the individual managers, lifeguards, miscellaneous staff and the David City Family Aquatic Center.
• The cost of the lesson is $70.00 for 5-30 minutes lessons
• There will be a facility fee assessed for each lesson period.  The fee is paid by the parent at the beginning of the lesson period along with the other fees (included in lesson fee.)

 

Forms may be picked up at the City Office until May 24^th after that they may be obtained at the swimming pool.

Both public and private lessons are offered from 9 a.m. until noon.

 

Public Lessons

All those with a season pass who would like to take swimming lessons will have to pay an additional $25.00 fee prior to the start of the lesson.  Participants who do not have a season pass will be charged a $35.00 lesson fee.  NO swimming lesson registrations will be accepted without prior payments and a parent’s signature and date on the back of the registration form.  You may pick forms up at the City Office until May 24^th and at the swimming pool after that.  WSI instructors will teach all lessons.

     

      PreSchool Aquatics I, II, III  - The objective is to break

        Down Level I so a swimmer can feel comfortable in the water at three levels.

 

Level 1 – The object is to help students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely.  This class is 30 minutes.

 

Level 2 – The object is to give students success with fundamental skills.  This class is 45 minutes.

 

Level 3 – The object is to build on the skills in level II by providing additional guided practice.  This class is 45 minutes.

 

Level 4 – The object is to develop confidence in the areas learned thus far and to improve other aquatic skills.  This class is 45 minutes.

 

Level 5 – The object is to coordinate and refine keystrokes.  Students who enter must have level IV certificate. This class is 45 minutes.

 

Level 6 – The object is to polish strokes so students swim them with more ease, efficiency power, and smoothness over greater distance.  This class is 45 minutes.
